We are:

Pastor Bill Dillon

William Dillon, II – Lead Pastor

revdillon2@gmail.com

Pastor Bill served 4 churches in Northeast Ohio before moving to Virginia Beach to pastor here at Tidewater Central in 2001. He has served continuously as a senior pastor in the Church of the Nazarene since 1996. Pastor Bill met and married his high school sweetheart, Jean, in Lisbon, OH, after his dad became the pastor of the Nazarene church where she and her family attended. Bill graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1975 and received a Masters degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 1994. Jean is a registered nurse and works for Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Pastor Bill and Jean have three daughters & sons-in-law: Kris and Matt Steele of Virginia Beach, Courtney and Zach Olah of Blacklick, OH, and Cassie and Michael Self of Spring Hill, TN. He enjoys being “Papa” to his 7 grandchildren, golfing, hunting, fishing on the Bay, and a good steak from the Outback Steakhouse. Pastor Bill is passionate about seeing people develop into true disciples of Jesus Christ. He says, “I am amazed at how God is using ordinary people to share His love with our world. I want to encourage people of any age to be used by Him. God is still writing our story here at TCN and I’m glad to be part of it.”

14068022_10105540351698262_9021464491502356120_o Madison Freeman – Youth Pastor

Pastor Madi was practically born a Nazarene. She grew up in Northern Virginia in a little rural town, where she learned to appreciate God’s creation, and fell in love with nature. She grew up attending the two local Nazarene churches, Leesburg and Loudoun Valley, where she ended up being called to be their youth pastor/director (Leesburg 7 years, Valley 1.5 years). Pastor Madi was called into ministry at the age of 12 at the district church camp. Growing up, she was an eccentric girl, and didn’t really fit in with any groups, including her own youth groups. When she was 16, she explored different churches and denominations, but discovered that the Church of the Nazarene was the most biblically sound and had ultimately had her heart. When she turned 22, her ministry and calling in life became clear, and she was baptized and sanctified. Her ministry has developed into teaching students that God created them uniquely for His purpose. She married her husband Stuart, September 10, 2011. They live here in Virginia Beach with their 3 fur babies, and are mildly obsessed with their little family.

Pastor Heather

Heather Wells – Children’s Pastor

Heather was raised in the Nazarene church from the time she was born. She attended Kent Church of the Nazarene until she went off to Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 1991. Heather graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. After graduation, Heather’s husband Ken, was accepted into Regent University so they moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia in the summer of 1995. While teaching in Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Heather completed her Master’s degree in Special Education from Old Dominion University.Although being a teacher was always something she knew God had called her to, Heather began to feel a new calling. God has given her a special love for children, and she felt God calling her into children’s ministry. Heather became the children’s pastor at Tidewater Central and began her ministry course work through Nazarene Bible College online classes. Heather is currently working on her ordination requirements and is seeking God’s continued direction in her life as to how He would have her serve Him in ministry.

Walt Kriner – Shepherding Pastor

Pastor Walt has been on staff at Tidewater Central since September 2013 and he currently serves as our Shepherding Pastor, serving the senior adults and retired pastors in our congregation, as well as mentoring the staff, guiding their ministerial education and district requirements.

Rhona

Rhona Hands – Worship Director

Rhona Hands has been on staff serving as Worship Director at Tidewater Central since April 2010. She has served in numerous ministries over the years, but her concentration has been on the music programs in the Church of the Nazarene since graduating from Mid-America Nazarene College (now University) with a BA degree in Church Music and Religious Education. Her passion for playing Christian music on the piano was developed in her teen years and she enjoys giving praise & worship to God through her music. Originally from Kansas, she grew up on a farm there, and then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana after graduating from college and began her ministry in a small Nazarene church there. She had gone to New Orleans on a 6 week college work and witness trip and was led to move there and continue working in that church after graduating. In Dec of 2001, she moved from New Orleans to the Tidewater area and began attending & being involved at TCN. Her outside interests include spending time with her sister & brother-in-law who live here also, gardening, reading, & vacationing back to Kansas or taking cruises.
