Prayer in Strong Memorial Library

on your knees, standing or seated.
Romans 12:12 - Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.

Strong Memorial Library

What is the best season of the year to read?

Answer:

It all depends on you.

For some of us, it's every season.  For some, it is when they have the most free time.  For others, it is when there is nothing worth watching on TV.

Stop by the library and see what we have.  We have Christian fiction, devotional books, Bible study books, biographies, cookbooks and much more.

Books can be checked out for three weeks and can be renewed for three more if necessary.

Sunday School Make the Connection 9:00 AM - Classes for all ages!

10:00 AM - Children's Church up to Grade 5

The Goal

The goal of Sunday School ministries is to reach lost people for Jesus. Through the Sunday School, we challenge all ages to be disciples of Jesus Christ and to invite others to do the same. Sunday School is the place where we help each other live the holy life through mutual support, Christian fellowship, and loving accountability. John Wesley said, "God has given us to each other to strengthen each other's hands."

What We Believe

Articles of Faith

1.      The Triune God
Triune means three.
God exists in three Persons:
God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
This is a mystery we accept by faith.

2.      Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God the Son.  He is the only Son of God and the Savior of the world.  The Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

3.      The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Person of the Trinity who helps Christians know they are God's children, teaches them the truths Jesus taught, and helps them live the Christian life.

4.      The Bible
The Bible is God's Holy Word in written form.  Sometimes we call it the Scriptures or the Word of God.

5.      Sin
Sin is rebellion against God.  A person chooses to disobey God.

6.      Atonement
The reconciliation of God and people through Jesus' death on the Cross.  People can ask forgiveness of their sin, restore their relationship with God, and be "at one" with Him.

7.      Free Agency
God gave people the ability to make choices about right and wrong.  Each person is responsible to God for the way he or she lives.

8.      Repentance
To repent means to change one's mind completely about sin and ask God's forgiveness.  The person turns away from sin and turns to God.

9.      Justification, Regeneration, and Adoption
Justification is God's action to forgive sinners who repent and make them right with Him.  He makes the relationship "just as if" they had never sinned.  (Galatians 2:16a)
Regeneration is God's action to give spiritual life to a repentant sinner so the person can stop sinning and live the Christians life.  (1 John 5:1a)
Adoption is God's action to make the repentant sinner His own child.  (Galatians 3:26)

10.    Entire Sanctification
To sanctify means to set apart and to cleanse from sin.  A person who is sanctified chooses to put God first in everything, to obey Him, and to live for and please God.

11.    The Church
There are three meanings of the word church:
a)  The building where a congregation meets to worship
b)  A local church or denomination
c)  Everyone in the world who believes in God and has accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior.

12.    Baptism
Baptism is the sacrament that uses water to symbolize Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.  It shows that the believer has received Christ's promised salvation and has begun to live a new life.

13.    The Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is also referred to as Communion.  It is a sacrament that uses some form of bread and juice to remind us of Christ's death for our sins.

14.    Divine Healing
Divine Healing is an act of God by which He cures sickness in answer to the prayer of faith.  God has enabled people to learn many ways to heal and help people who are sick.  Christians should not refuse to take medicine and should seek help from doctors when necessary.

15.    Second coming of Christ
Jesus Christ will come again as He promised!

16.    Resurrection, Judgment, and Destiny
At the resurrection at the end of time, everyone's body will be united with the person's spirit.  Every person will appear in judgment before God.  Those who accepted Christ as Savior and are living as a Christian will have an eternal destiny in heaven.
